163. DIO is an intelligence assessment agency and has no intelligence collection charter or capability. The primary focus of DIO's assessments is on matters of military interest in our region.

164. Soon after I became Inspector-General, I was briefed on the operations of the agency by the Director DIO, Major-General Bill Crews AO, and his senior staff.
