Here is my annual report, as required by section 35 of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security Act 1986. The report covers the period between 1 July 1997 and 30 June 1998.
The report has been prepared in compliance with the current Guidelines for the preparation of departmental annual reports, issued by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in April 1998, to the extent that compliance is sensible for an office of our small size.
I have consulted with all of the agencies I oversee, each of whom share my view that the report is suitable for tabling in the Parliament.
