THE YEAR 2000-2001 IN PROSPECT
INQUIRIES
305. Two substantial inquiries under the IGIS Act were in progress at the close of the reporting year. In both cases I would expect to report to the relevant minister during the first half of the new reporting year.
306. There is also the ongoing inquiry into the espionage case, referred to at paragraphs 265-268. I have already prepared two reports relevant to this subject and would expect to provide a third and final report, also during the first half of the 2000-2001 reporting period.
307. It is not possible to predict future inquiry workload but there is no reason to expect any significant departure from previous years' patterns.
