How to Make a Complaint
If you decide that you wish to make a complaint to the IGIS in relation to an activity of any of the agencies over which the IGIS has jurisdiction, you may make that complaint in a number of ways.
You may write a letter to the IGIS and mail it to our postal address:
- PO Box 6181
Kingston ACT 2604
or you could send it as a facsimile (fax) transmission to our fax machine:
- 02 6271 5696
You could also send an email describing your complaint, or with your letter attached, to our corporate email address:
You can call the office of the IGIS by telephone to make inquiries about the complaint process or about your particular complaint. You can even make your complaint by telephone, as some people do, in the first instance. Sometimes we will ask you to put the complaint in writing, spelling out the details. Our office telephone number is:
- 02 6271 5692
You may also use our on-line complaint form to lodge your complaint. We have a separate on-line form for immigration related complaints.
