Section 35 of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security Act 1986 requires that the Inspector-General provide a report to the Prime Minister as soon as practicable after 30 June each year on the operations of the Inspector-General during the year that ended on that 30 June.
In this report the Inspector-General must provide comment on inquiry or inspection activity conducted during that year and on the extent of compliance by ASIS ASD and AGO with rules made under section 15 of the Intelligence Services Act 2001.
Our practice is to write unclassified annual reports, which are tabled in Parliament and placed on this website.
Annual Reports published prior to 2011 - 2012 are available on the Australian Government Web Archive.
